Professional hockey teams: Player’s Challenge Promotion
A novel approach to increase both ticket sales and a team’s profile can be achieved by taking the very portable StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss treadmill with players to public promotions and appearances. Players can demonstrate individual skating and stickhandling skills on the StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss treadmill and encourage or challenge the public to participate. A prize may be awarded to the individuals who meet a certain criteria for strides, depending on footwear, with or without stickhandling, during a set time.
Instead of using players, promotional events may be held, with or without models, to demonstrate and encourage the fans to participate in the skating challenge. Promotional events may be run before games in the arena’s lobby, or in-between periods at centre ice or key locations outside the arena.
The StrideDeck™ portable fitness and weight loss treadmill will clearly demonstrate the high skill level and standards required to become a player on the team while allowing the fans to challenge themselves and each other, in a safe, fun environment. This may be leveraged to create a buzz in the team’s chat rooms or other media.
Minor hockey associations & teams: Fund Raising Event
The StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss platforms may become an annual or an ongoing fund raising event for teams. The players could solicit pledges from the public as to the amount of time a team or player is able to skate on the StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss treadmill. When one player finishes striding, another player starts until the pledged time is accomplished. Teams and spectators can offer their support and encouragement readily as the activity can be focused within an area, instead of an entire rink surface. There are additional savings to the teams and association as no ice rental is needed.
Another fund raising tool for the team is to sell tickets to the public for skating practice time on the StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss platforms. If the team charges $10.00 an hour for 40 hours a week of skating and training time, this will generate $400 for one StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss platform per week in fees. Throughout a hockey season, many teams within the association co-operating and time sharing, have the potential to collect and distribute $12,000 in fees.
Only the StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss treadmill is portable and can be taken and set up anywhere. Also, the StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss platform has low maintenance and operational requirements. The StrideDeck™ fitness and weight loss treadmill is the perfect fit for developing skating skills and generating extra revenue for any minor hockey association and team.
