The StrideDeckTM skating platform is 100% Canadian made. The StrideDeckTM comprises of 8 interlocking platforms (each approx. 2ā x 1ā) that can either be connected into a 90 degree āVā shape for skating or into one length about 6 feet long for exercises and stretches.
The StrideDeckTM can be stored and transported into two carrying bags with each weighing about 35 pounds (4 platforms in each bag).
The durable rollers are made with the latest hard-wearing technology to ensure many years of intense use. Replacement rollers are available, if required, and are easy to install.
The other commercially available product for skating are numerous slide boards. These slide boards can only be used by wearing socks. There is no actual skating or digging into the platform but just sliding. These are sold from $100 and upwards.
There are nylon floor panels that cost $3,000 and upwards that allow for skating. However, these do not allow the user to skate at full speed in a straight forward motion and also require a large, permanent location.
The StrideDeckTM is the first of its kind. The closest product that offers unlimited skating with hockey skates on is the motorized version that needs the user to wear a harness belt and an operator to control the motor. This motorized version retails from $60,000 and upwards.
